This is your chance to become an exhibited artist. The winners will be chosen by a panel of judges and announced at the exhibition opening. A selection of photographs from the project will be exhibited.

EXHIBITION OPENING & AWARDS CEREMONY

Come and join us to celebrate the winning photographs, socialise with us and your fellow participants and take in the inspirational photographs from the project.

Help us make history and document the changing landscape in Hackney as London 2012 approaches.

Hackney Museum and Archives have been awarded Heritage Lottery funding to record how Hackney residents feel about the changes brought about by the Olympic and Paralympic Games. This involves a number of projects that will encourage participants of all ages and backgrounds to reflect on how they feel about the current changes and respond in a creative way.

Capture how Hackney is changing today and for the future and your photos may be archived at Hackney Museum and Archives for future generations to look back on in wonder.

MAKE HISTORY & GET INVOLVED

  • Share your view of Hackney as it changes by submitting your entry here (images must have been taken in the past five years).
  • You can submit up to five photos.
  • There are exciting prizes to be won and winning entries will be displayed as part of Hackney Museum's Mapping the Change exhibition. Prints by Photobox.
  • Your photos may be entered into Hackney Museum and Archives for future generations to look back on Hackney as it is now
  • The copyright of the photos remains yours but your images may be submitted to Hackney Museum and Archives for educational, pr & marketing and not for profit usage. See the RULES page for more info.

WHAT ARE HACKNEY ARCHIVES?
Hackney Archives cares for the archives and local studies collections of the London Borough of Hackney and makes them available to the public for research. The collections include:

  • official administrative records of the borough council and its predecessors back to 1700
  • original records of local organisations and individuals
  • a local studies library
  • photographs
  • maps
  • newspapers
